DIGITAL ART Part 5.
Today’s image is a detail from a photo I am working on for a photographic competition I am intending to enter. Unlike yesterday’s posted image, this in its entirety is quite realistic.
Using photoshop, I am working on the intricate shapes to highlight the power of the floodwater.
Is this art or photography? Is it photographic art? What’s that? Are there any boundaries between art and photography anymore?
I am looking forward to publishing some of my digital art exploits and hope I get some constructive feedback.
Tomorrow: Is Digital Art really art?

As a photographer myself I constanty struggle with the line between photograph and digital art. I’ve decided, for now, that anything beyond a bit of sharpening and tonal adjustments is not really photography in the truest sense. However, reworking something that you did your best to get right in camera so that it represents what you actually saw is permissable. It’s important to remember that the sensor isn’t capable of seeing exactly what you see, even if it’s a Hasleblad or Leica.

Thank you and for your comments regarding the line between photography and art. It’s all a matter of what you are trying to say with each image, isn’t it?
