THE TRIANGLE

The triangle is my favourite geometric shape, due to its religious symbolism.

The equilateral triangle symbolizes the godhead, harmony and proportion. The Mayan hieroglyphic for the Sun-ray was a triangle. Greek, Roman and Indian triangles can be found in friezes as decorative motifs.

The triangle is also the symbol of fire and of the heart.

I often include a triangle in both my symbolic and landscape work for its religious symbolism. I also love the shape of this symbol and I’ll include it or a variation of it as seen in today’s image in my work for no direct or obvious reason.
