My latest coloured pencil drawing “Still-life, Baker’s Beach” has reached the stage where I can concentrate on the fine details that are needed. Light, shadow, texture and pattern can now be added to bring the drawing ‘to life’.

This is the stage that I enjoy the most. The hard work has been done and now the finishing touches can be added. But it’s not ‘easy street’ as this stage will confirm the drawing’s success or see it assigned to a folder to be worked on at a later date.

For the record: Prismacolor pencils on Canson pastelboard.  Size: 60 x 40cm.

Colours used: Goldenrod, Mahogany Red, Pumpkin Orange, Deco Peach, Beige, Ginger Root, Cool Grey 10, 20, 30, 50, 70, 90, Sand, Yellow Ochre, French Grey 10, 20, 30, 50, 70, 90, Mineral Orange, Powder Blue, Salmon Pink, Beige Sienna, Cream, Light Umber, Sepia, Warm Grey 50, White and Black.

I shall post a photo of the completed drawing later in the week.
