REMEMBERING TREES“Remembering Trees”, Coloured Pencil on Canson Pastel Board. 40 x 60cm

FOR SALE: $520 AUD Enquiries:

This drawing is a comment on forestry practices and the secular nature of Australian society.

A ‘Loghenge’ surrounds a (wooden) lit candle with an interesting shadow.

The background shows the remnants of a tree farm. The land is bare and lifeless. What’s happening in the mountains?

  1. I think it’s interesting in this piece, the contrast between the loghenge and the chessboard.
Because the loghenge is so mysterious and religion related and the chessboard, the game of chess, is all strategy and very rational.

    I like it!

Thanks Gabriela. Would you believe that a ‘henge’ was more to do with pagan worship, rather than Christian following. The candle, smoke and cross are the only (3) symbols that are Christian.

  2. I think I did know that. Well, not that it was specifically pagan, but I DID know that it’s not catholic.

But it’s still a religious thing, no? XD
