ABSTRACTED

ABSTRACTED PREVIEW

Today I’m featuring extracts from 9 of the paintings that will be part of an exhibition I am curating at Country Club Tasmania, Launceston, opening on November 26.

The images featured are  examples of work by each of the 9 artists participating. I expect about 55 paintings to be displayed.

The group’s members have been working on this exhibition for nearly 12 months. None of the artists are true abstract painters, but they have a passion for painting in a different way and if enthusiasm is anything to go by, this exhibition will be a sell-out!

I had a preview of some of the work last Tuesday and was impressed by the diversity of the work and the professionalism of techniques employed and in the presentation of the work.

The theme for this exhibition is Mystery. I look forward to posting some of the work later next month.

I have been able to obtain a prize of a gift voucher for $250 from one of our local art suppliers, Philcam and I will be judging the painting I feel most successfully defines the theme.

An exhibition worth waiting for!

Richard – your blog grows stronger with your paintings! I’m amazed at how you can extract just the right piece of an art work to leave us wanting to see more!
Having put so much of yourself into your Glover piece, it will be great to see it next year and do hope the selectors include your work. Good luck! margaret

Hi Richard, have you received your cheque yet? Love these abstracts – must try and get up to see them at the Casino. I entered the Glover last year – but didn’t get selected. Will have another try this year. Lorraine
