BEACHCOMBING FOR ABSTRACTS

Sometimes when I go in search of ideas for my art, I go with a specific subject matter in mind. On a recent trip to Hawley Beach on Tasmania’s northern coast, I wanted to collect images of rocks and rock patterns, the latter being resource material for any future abstracts that I wanted to draw.

Today’s featured images are some of the many that I was able to ‘record’. I’m not sure what I will do with them, but I’m happy in the knowledge that I have broadened my abstract data base.

I also enjoy drawing groups of rocks that feature in both my landscapes and symbolic works. I was able to add a new collection of photos after this excursion that have given me something fresh to work from when I decide to venture in that direction.
