Today’s featured coloured pencil drawing is a sketch of Lake Lilla at Cradle Mountain, in Tasmania.

You will note that the sketching style is the same as yesterday’s featured artworks, but this time far more detail has been added.

For this type of drawing I used a white board with a smooth, satin surface. It readily accepted Polychromos pencils whose hardness is well suited to this type of drawing surface.

I love this kind of drawing because it’s quick, free and quite spontaneous, quite different from my usual work.
