TROPICAL ART

It’s late Autumn here in Launceston, and in the past week we’ve experienced some very cold, frosty mornings.

I’m not a fan of the cold and to keep myself ‘warm’ have commenced a drawing of leaves on the forest floor at the Mossman Gorge, in Far North Queensland.

It may be sunny outside, but the air is cold! I have fond memories of my time in the Tropics and look forward to another visit there in the not-too-distant future.

I am working on Arches 640 gsm watercolour paper, 56 x 76 cm.

These certainly look tropical – are they big? You always find such interesting subjects to work.
We had frosts a week ago – then over the last few days we’ve had hot, hot, hot sunshine! Crazy. x

It’s quite a large drawing Gillian, at 56 x 76 cm. There are lots of dark colours to be added, mainly blues and browns, which will highlight the brighter leaves.
