On Monday I conducted a workshop with 12 members of the Burnie Coastal Art Group at their Burnie headquarters.

It was a great day and over the coming days i will share with you some of the work that was produced.

The Truth About Coloured Pencils, was a workshop designed for the participants to experience ‘fine art’ pencil drawing with little mention of ‘illustration’ as many people (falsely) assume is what  this medium is all about.

I told the group all about the good, the bad and the ugly in relation to cp drawing. People need to know the real facts of any art medium.

I was very impressed not only with the standard of work produced, but with the thinking and resulting creativity that occurred . This gave me a great sense of satisfaction and achievement by the time the workshop concluded.

There was homework to complete, and I hope to post some examples in the not-too-distant future.

Later in the week I will post some inspiring examples of abstraction in coloured pencil.

More tomorrow!
