Three more of my earlier drawings that will be part of my retrospective exhibition which will open this coming Friday.

Top: Summer Shadows, Sisters Beach.

Middle: Backwater, Rocky Cape National Park.

Bottom: Landscape Graffiti, Lake St. Clair.

These are three very different drawings that were the forerunners of three areas that I have been interested in for some time. Shadows, abstraction from Nature and natural graffiti have been quite noticeable in my drawings ever since these three were created.

Two very different drawings will be featured tomorrow.

  1. Janet Pantry says:

Great pictures, Richard! I really like the deceptive simplicity and drama of your drawings. You have a unique way of working – very different and refreshing to see! 🙂

  2. Gillian says:

Janet is right – your style is indeed unique and that must give you confidence. I particularly like the Backwater piece. Blues don’t seem to feature a lot in your work – and the internsity of this combines with the stylised flow of water creates a very strong painting.
BTW, I do like to use the word painting and not drawing for CP like yours – it is very painterly after all!
