Drawing number 6 of my Cheshunt series is underway. At 60 x 80 cm, it is rather large for a cp drawing, but I like this size as it gives me ‘room’ to show detail and create a distant feel of perspective.
Today’s images are only a small part of the composition. More will be revealed in future posts.
I’m back in the derelict, farm workers’ cottage at Cheshunt where I created Silence at the Table. Instead of looking into the room, this time I’m behind the table, looking towards the door. The ‘mug’ appears yet again!
What I can reveal is the intent of the drawing.
This work is double-sided because it’s about both the depressing and optimistic sides of farming. It doesn’t ‘takes sides’.
When finished (I hope) this drawing will challenge the viewer to decide if it is riddled with gloom or full of hope.
There is much to be done! Layers of subtle tones, soft and dark shadows, sunlight and texture.
