My latest drawing Last Supper, is taking shape. Once I have covered the entire pastel board with coloured pencil, I can then concentrate on getting the required tonal range and adding the textures and marks that this room contains.
This will be a scene full of mood, a combination of optimism and depression as mentioned in my post on Friday.
Drawings such as these require a great deal of patience. Some parts will have many layers of pencil. The light source and resulting shadows areas must be correctly balanced.
This will be a very challenging piece of work.
