My Autumn Landscape drawing is complete and I shall have it framed next February and I’ll enter it in a major art prize in April.

I intend to have the drawing box-framed. There will be no mountboard, only a deep-set, solid dark frame. The only white that will be seen belongs to the limited area of background.

I added a variety of leaf shapes to give the feeling of falling leaves, as is the case with the season of Autumn.

The dark stain that runs across the leaf contains a tree-like shape which appeals to me.

Some of the major leaf veins are highlighted as are numerous flickers of light on the leaf’s surface.

For this drawing I used a full sheet of 300 gsm watercolour paper. I don’t normally work on white, but the palette of this particular composition needed as light a background as possible.

Prints and cards of this drawing are for sale at:

I have a problem with the overall premise of your article but I still think its really informative. I really like your other posts. Keep up the great work. If you can add more video and pictures can be much better. Because they help much clear understanding. 🙂 thanks Laurielee.
