Over the past few days I have begun the huge task of sorting out the contents of my studio in preparation for my trip to Cairns in March.
There is so much to do, that I wasn’t sure where to start. But start I did, and I’m well and truly into the process.
It’s amazing what you find when you are sifting through your things. Today, I have posted two sketches that I did 20 years ago. These are quite simple and on watercolour paper, something I rarely use these days. I like to look back and to see what I was doing in those days.
I’m not totally sure what art materials I will take with me next year. I plan to take some pencils and some quarter sheets of pastel board. My wife Val, gave me a set of 24 graphite pencils for Christmas and they will certainly be part of my collection of art materials.
I have removed my car from the garage to enable me to sort my stuff out. Val is sorting to and between us we have already established three well-defined ‘piles’ on the garage floor, one for the tip, one for the re-cycling depot and the other for a garage sale.
My studio is already looking far more organised and clean than it has been for a long time!
