Last Thursday Val and I spent the day on Fitzroy Island to celebrate her birthday. The island in an art lover’s paradise, full or huge boulders, tall trees and its shores are covered in tonnes of coral.
The coral is as hard as concrete and it doesn’t break when one stands on it. As per usual I took numerous photos, this time with a Fuji XP30 digital camera that I had recently purchased to take underwater photos while snorkelling.
I also had a ‘play’ with some coral and succeeded in re-creating my website logo.
I loved the way the coral was piled up along the shore. Nature arranges such compositions far better than any artist can. Great subject matter for a large canvas don’t you think?
