CP @ ARTescape 2011 Part 1.

Well, it’s been and gone! After months of anticipation and planning, the annual Cairns Art Society’s ARTescape saw 100 keen and eager lovers of art gather for 5 days of tuition and inspiration from a dozen tutors.

Coloured pencil had never been offered before, so this was unknown territory.

Personally, I found the week one of the best adult teaching experiences I have ever had.

I started the week with a small, but eager class of 6 and ended the week with 5. The amount of work, the overall standard and the understanding by my class of what I offered was very encouraging and for me, very satisfying.

Over the next week or so, I will post and discuss one example of coloured pencil drawing from each of my students.

I am very happy that further workshops will come from my week’s teaching. My first is at Mareeba on September 24.

Today’s images are ‘grabs’ of some of the work produced.

Tomorrow: A piece of coral comes to life.
