Landscape Tattoo

80 x 60 cm   Prismacolor pencils on white Canson pastel board

I completed this drawing over a month ago and realised that I had not posted the finished product, so here it is!

The inspiration for this drawing came from the pattern on a rock that I discovered at Sisters Beach in Northwest Tasmania, several years ago.

This ‘abstract’ contains not only examples of weathering and natural mark making, but parts remind me of the intense agriculture that exists in that part of Tasmania.

This is an example of an ‘abstract from Nature’, and is exactly what my workshop at Atherton on October 1st is about.

Monday: Another tropical drawing is completed.
