AN ABSTRACT IN THE TROPICS WIP 1.

Even before I went to art school I was fascinated by abstract art. After gaining valuable experience from my tertiary education, I embarked on a series of abstracts in my first ‘serious’ year of painting. But alas, the buying public idn’t think that much of them so I took the ‘landscape path’, one that I’m still on today but thankfully  I’m adding abstract work when and where I can.

My latest piece is based on one of my digital ‘creations’ and is simply a study of water lapping onto a beach. But that’s where the similarity ends.

I am working on white (yes, white for a change) Canson pastel board with Polychromos pencils.

This drawing is so detailed that it will test my patience and my right hand!

More on Wednesday.
