Prismacolor pencils on Canson paper 41 x 30 cm
A couple of months ago I posted this drawing, but I had a look at it the other day and decided that it wasn’t finished, so I got to work and made a few (slight) alterations. Now I’m happy with it and I shall post it to my framer John, in Launceston for an exhibition there early next year before I arrive back home after our 12 month holiday on the Australian mainland.
I originally titled the drawing, Darwin Abstract 1, but after spending more time looking at it, I decided that a title change was needed.
For me, the colours in this drawing are more important than the shapes and symbols.
In my travels I have seen so many variations of the Australian landscape and it’s more often than not that I am moved by the colours than by the landscape itself.
Tomorrow: The return of the grumpy, old artist!
