“The Southern Midlands in 90 Minutes”
In my younger days I loved the cartoon character Speedy Gonzales, the fastest mouse in Mexico! He would zip and dart everywhere. I loved his Mexican accent too.
These days I’m certainly not “speedy”, but I can work quick if I push myself.
On Monday afternoon I decided to challenge myself and see how fast I could draw.
Armed with a piece of (30 x 20cm) Colourfix paper and a selection of Derwent Coloursoft pencils away I went!
Today’s featured drawing took a total of 90 minutes to complete.
It was an interesting challenge. I was probably more interested in the ability of the Coloursoft pencils than my speed.
The verdict?
I loved the ease of application of these pencils and their strong colours. I will feature them along with Prismacolor and Polychromos pencils at my next workshop in Latrobe on July 7th.
Friday: The power of a single object.
Richard
Good morning Richard,
Only one more sleep and we are off on the Dawn Princess. Mr Sunny is very excited about going on his first cruise, as am I. It’s not common knowledge that I will be away, for obvious reasons and will be in touch in around six weeks.
On the subject of art, I like your 90 minute ‘speedy’ drawing. Very impressive! I look forward to seeing what you have done while I’m away.
Have a great one…….
Thanks Dale, and I wish you a wonderful “escape”.
We are off to Uluru and Alice Springs in August.
Warmest regards,
Richard
